Open dialogue space for global themes

Organized by the department ‟Weltkirche und Entwicklungszusammenarbeit“ of ‟Kirche im Dialog“ (Church in Dialogue), a division of the Archdiocese in Vienna.

Occasion
The event "Dialog für eine Welt" regards itself as an opportunity for networking and education in different subject areas that are considered global challenges of the present.

Target Groups
Former and active development workers/volunteers and people involved in development policy, members of migrant communities, representatives of religious and faith communities, initiatives and experts from Austria and abroad, civil society actors.

Objectives

  • Commitment to and support for a global justice
  • Enabling an open space for dialogue to address current globally relevant issues, incorporating perspectives from the experiential spaces of the Global South, other religions and cultures and different generations.
  • Strengthening mutual understanding
  • Strengthening intercultural, interreligious and civil-society competence
  • Exchange and connecting people and institutions

Topics
Annually changing topical focus:Generational dialogue around the commitment to "One World"; flight, immigration and integration; social polarization; civil society engagement in the face of "shrinking spaces"; climate justice from the perspective of religions; peace policy ‒ peace ethics ‒ peace work.

Duration

„Dialog für eine Welt“ is a one-day event taking place annually at different venues in Vienna.

Form of Organization
The department "Weltkirche und Entwicklungszusammenarbeit" is part of "Kirche im Dialog" in the Pastoral Office of the Archdiocese of Vienna and is responsible for the organization.

The event „Dialog für eine Welt“ is funded by the Archdiocese in Vienna and contributions from the cooperation partners.
