Religious Communities as Networks

Religious communities are not only places for the cultivation of specific religious rites and provide a spiritual home. They are also networks which enable a dialogue with the majority society and with other religions in the first place thus laying the ground for integration and social participation.

In a lecture given at the Austrian Integration Summit 2021, Prof. Wolfram Reiss drew attention to these functions of religious communities. The title of the lecture: “Cultural Home, Bridge to a Majority Society and Lobby – On the Social Capital of Religious Communities in Integration Processes”.
